Operating a hospice facility is not unlike owning a home. Things break or wear out, and they need to be replaced. We are continuously impressed how well our community bands together to support the Cottage, in so many ways including with the basic needs of our facility.

Recently, it became evident that our Sunset Hospice Cottage sofa sleepers and bedside chairs used by both our residents and families had exceeded their useful lifespan (for anyone that remembers their family furniture that was relegated to the basement, you will know what we mean).  Our very first step was to contact Rune’s Furniture; they have been a generous supporter of the Cottage and didn’t hesitate to accommodate our request for new furniture.  They showed us various options that would meet our needs, their staff was quick and efficient in responding to our delivery timing, and they arrived at the cottage with a team of employees to deliver the new furniture to each of the four resident rooms with no disruption to the staff or the residents.

Rune’s support of the cottage and their generous donations have allowed us to maintain our commitment to preserving the comfort, respect and dignity of our residents and their families in a comfortable and home-like setting during their end of life journey.
