The Facility

The Hospice Cottage, also known as the Sunset Cottage, in Worthington, Minnesota is designed to be a home away from home. Every room is spacious, features a big picture window and is designed to have sunlight at some point throughout the day. Each patient’s room also includes a pull-out couch in case any family members want to stay close to their loved one. In the lower level of the Hospice Cottage, you will find guest bedrooms and a large common area that all families have access to free of charge.

Chapel

As a part of a community of faith, the Hospice Cottage provides a chapel in the front of the cottage for anyone in need of quiet time, prayer time or time with the staff chaplain. As a part of our ministry at the cottage, every patient that enters the cottage receives a handmade prayer shawl. It is a way to communicate, through faith, that no one is ever alone on their journey. The prayer shawl also represents a finding of faith, renewing of faith or continuing of faith, and a reminder of the kindness and goodness of human nature.

Reflection Room

We understand that having a loved one in hospice care can be both stressful and emotional. At the Hospice Cottage, we have designed a room for reflection as a place to decompress and re-energize. It is a place where family members are able to get away, read a book, watch a movie or just have some time to themselves.

Full Kitchen

Want to make a favorite family recipe or grandma’s favorite cookies? Or just make some popcorn? The Hospice Cottage offers a full kitchen available to all visitors throughout their loved one’s stay. It is accessible 24 hours a day and the coffee is always on. Check out the virtual tour for a better look.
